    The Muslim Experience helps pupils to: gain an understanding about Islam: how it originated, its key beliefs and practices and its responses to different issues - learn from Islam and reflect on their own beliefs and values.3/5(1). The notion of "religious experience" can be traced back to William James, who used the term "religious experience" in his book, The Varieties of Religious Experience. It is considered to be the classic work in the field, and references to James' ideas are common at professional conferences.

    Islam, major world religion promulgated by the Prophet Muhammad in Arabia in the 7th century ce. The Arabic term islām, literally “surrender,” illuminates the fundamental religious idea of Islam—that the believer (called a Muslim, from the active particle of islām) accepts surrender to the will of Allah (in Arabic, Allāh: God). Islamic Holy Books are the texts which Muslims believe were authored by Allāh through various prophets throughout humanity's history. All these books, in Muslim belief, promulgated the code and laws that God ordained for those people.

    In the second phase of our Minnesota Muslim Experience project, we created a book and DVDs to distribute the interviews widely.
